With physical health comes physical energy, and with physical energy comes productivity and enthusiasm. I often encourage those who desire a life change of any kind to begin with a simple health & fitness regimen. As your health improves, every other area of your life will be simultaneously affected in a positive way. Your health is the foundation of everything you do in this physical realm. I encourage you to take into consideration these 4 simple health tips that will change your life.
1. Lemon water first thing in the morning.
So often we want to run straight to the fridge in the morning and cook up some breakfast. For most of us this is a habit and nothing more, and most of the time food is the last thing we need so early in the day.
Your body has much healing to do. It needs energy to do so, and feeding your body with more food only depletes your energy. When you eat food early in the day, you completely stop the detoxification/healing process that was taking place while you slept. Waiting a few hours to eat is a very smart thing to do.
Drinking a large glass of water first thing in the morning will satiate your hunger and will not steal your energy. The energy that you would normally be using to digest your breakfast will be directed towards healing—a very good thing indeed.
Adding lemon to your morning glass of water is an even better idea. Why? Lemon is a powerful cleansing agent. It goes into your body and dissolves built-up toxic waste that lines the intestines, which then can be flushed out of the body. The result is a more energetic, happy, and productive you.
2. Liquid diet until noon.
As I mentioned above, the body needs time and energy to heal itself. When you continuously feed your body with solid food, it is required to direct its energy stores towards digestion. This means less energy for healing and detoxification.
Liquids are obviously easier to digest than solid food, therefore a liquid diet until at least noon is a very intelligent thing to do. This will not steal your energy but rather give you energy. You’ll feel more alive and mentally clear as a result, and over time, as your body detoxes, you will discover what it really means to be a healthy human.
Liquids can include water, fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies, fermented drinks like kombucha, and more. I only urge you to avoid processed sugars, as they will nullify many of the potential benefits of this process.
3. Minimum of a brisk walk every single day.
Exercise is obviously an important part of any healthy lifestyle, however it need not be anything too intense. A simple brisk walk of a few miles every day can do wonders for your health and vitality.
Did you know that a brisk walk in nature is actually more effective than anti-depressants at treating depression symptoms? Keep it natural folks. Your body will thank you and your life will reflect your newfound vitality.
4. One side of greens with every meal.
We all know the importance of eating our vegetables, but how many of us have actually experienced the incredible clarity and physical vitality that comes from eating them every single day? I have. Let me tell you about it.
A few years ago, I went through a major depression. I was also about 40 pounds overweight at the time. My life was a mess. How did I overcome this immense struggle? Simple. I got my health in order. How did I do that? I added more natural foods to my diet, most notably leafy green vegetables. Within 6 months I was cured. My mood stabilized and I lost about 30 pounds, and all I did was change my eating habits.
I urge you to take this message seriously. The next time you go shopping, pick up some kale, spinach, or collards, and then find a way to incorporate them into most of your meals. It’s really not that bad. You can make some delicious meals with simple, healthy ingredients. And such a simple change will do wonders for every area of your life.
