9 Instant Solutions for a Better, Well-Rounded Life

It seems that when it comes to personal development, everybody wants the “instant” solutions, the quick fix or the cure-all.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they don’t exist.

But indeed, there’re a ton of simple things you can apply today for a better life.

All you have to do is try. I dare say the following are “instant” as you, like many people out there are just too distracted to realize what’s under your nose.

1) Meditate

The point of meditation is to have your own space, quiet your mind and then allow new insights to come in.

These insights can range from forgotten things that used to make you happy or epiphanies that can set your path. And these insights do matter because well, just ask yourself when was the last time you actually gave yourself time for yourself and not think about work and other daily stresses?

2) Go to your library

Because you should fall back in love with reading an actual book. And you don’t have to waste your money on books. You can borrow them.

Speaking of which, a lot of the good things in life are free. Just put in the effort to search for them.

3) Go for a walk

Walking is exercising. It’s a good form of exercise. We are not aiming for a six-pack or preparing you for a marathon here, but it’s a good way to actually kick start a healthy lifestyle.

When was the last time you chose to walk and not take a cab?

4) Buy that one thing that can better your life

Conversely, it’s also okay to spend sometimes. Be willing to fork out the cash on that thing that you know can potentially improve your life.

Just do your due diligence first.

5) Tell somebody you’re grateful for them

I like to think that this is another form of doing your good deed of the day.

Tell a loved one or a friend that you’re grateful for them. You’re going to feel that much better.

6) Don’t go to bed with your phone

Having trouble sleeping? You may be too used to randomly surfing the internet with your phone.

Put it aside. Go to sleep.

7) “There’s enough to go around”

Taking money as the most common example, stop thinking about the lack of it. The world is big and there is enough of it to go around.

Start with your thoughts. Be abundant in your mind and then work towards it. Things can happen for you.

8) Drink more water today

I think this can apply to anybody. Just for today, drink more water. You’ll feel more energized  for sure.

If you’re one of those who have your daily fix of Starbucks or Big Gulp, I guarantee you’re going to feel a major difference then.

9) Breathe – Exhale longer than you took to inhale

This may sound like a no-brainer, but a breather is probably what you need because you may not be doing it right at all.

This isn’t Yoga or meditation. It’s just that little, tiny pause you need to punctuate your life with. You’d probably be surprised how never thought of it at all.
